Community Dining Program for Elders

In Chile, 14.6% of people over 60 live alone, meaning at least 530,000 elders experience social isolation. (Casen, 2022)

Valparaíso has one of the highest percentages of elders in Chile, second only to Santiago. (Casen, 2022)

At Fundación Javier Arrieta, we believe that no elder should face hunger or loneliness. Our Community Dining Program provides nutritious meals in a warm, welcoming space where elders can connect, share, and thrive.

How Our Program Makes a Difference

Nutritious Meals

We provide healthy, balanced lunches Monday through Friday, ensuring that elders have a reliable source of food while helping them stretch their limited pensions.
A $5 USD donation covers the cost of one meal.

A Supportive Community

For many elders, our dining program is more than just a meal—it’s a place to belong. They can socialize, make friends, and receive visits from volunteers, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Wellness & Engagement

We keep elders active with craft workshops, light exercise, mental stimulation activities, and literacy classes, all designed to enhance their well-being and quality of life.
